DEER PARK

Ginnis New Homes ticks all the boxes when it comes to meeting demands of eco-conscious home buyers

Eco-friendliness is the most desired feature in a new home, according to a recent study – and a Derbyshire housing development is ticking all the boxes when it comes to meeting these demands.

Ginnis New Homes, the developers behind Deer Park; a collection of 30 exclusive three and four-bedroom homes which are taking shape on the edge of Ripley – have installed energy efficient appliances and used eco-friendly building products in all of their houses.

Each home has been built using Scandinavian-style timber frames, which has naturally thermally insulating properties to keep a house warmer for longer. A wood structure, as opposed to a steel one, also help to minimise the energy needed for heating, making them very energy efficient.

The study was done by Derbyshire-based Eurocell; PVCu manufacturer and distributor of windows, doors and conservatories. They surveyed 1,000 25-40 year old home owners and renters with 29% rating eco-friendliness as the most desired feature on a home.

Open-plan living and a minimalist look also featured high on the survey, while 48% said that the amount of natural light in their home would make them ‘feel good’.

Darren Farnan, marketing manager of Ginnis New Homes, said: “We are delighted that our Deer Park homes meet all of the criteria of people surveyed in this report.

“Very few homes in England are built using the timber frames; it’s something which is fairly unique to the Deer Park homes. The homes take just five minutes to heat up and stay warmer for longer.

“All of our integrated electrical appliances are energy efficient and the building plastics – the doors and windows – we used at Deer Park are eco-friendly, made using recycled materials.

“Residents speak fondly of the open-plan kitchen diner and the amount of light which streams into their homes from the attractive French doors and large period-style windows.”

The Deer Park development is based just off Coach Road, close to the Derbyshire Police and Fire Headquarters, and promises to offer residents the very best blend of countryside and town living.

Not only does it provide views across the Amber Valley, the development is just minutes away from Sainsbury’s supermarket in Bridle Lane and a short drive into the centre of Ripley. It’s a short walk, too, to St John’s CoE Primary School.

Each Deer Park home mixes modern living with traditional features, including high ceilings, downstairs WCs and built-in storage space.

The show home at Deer Park is open every Saturday from 11am. For further information on Deer Park’s three and four-bedroom homes, contact selling agents Boxall, Brown & Jones on 01773 880788 or visit www.ginnis-homes.co.uk
