Markeaton Park is Derby’s most visited park in the city. It is a large park offering a wide range of leisure facilities and activities for all ages. It hosts various fairs and shows throughout the year.
For children there is the Mundy Play Centre, full of fun apparatus to play on. Within the park there is the famous paddling pool, a firm family favourite, along with a crazy golf course, tennis courts, skate ramps, High Wire Adventure Course, fishing and boating lake, foot golf and also Markeaton Parkrun, a free timed 5k event every Saturday starting and ending at the Orangery Cafe.
Housed in the old stables of the former Markeaton Hall is a pretty Craft Village which contains a range of individual units selling a variety of crafts and services from pottery to photography.
The park is easily found having numerous entrances from both Allestree and Mackworth. There are many properties located within walking distance or just a short drive away of Markeaton Park often for sale and for rent in both these popular suburbs.
