Borrowash village in Derbyshire, though not strictly a Derby suburb, is a busy commuter centre for both Nottingham and Derby.
It once had its own railway station and a canal run through the village, but both are now gone. The busy centre in Borrowash has an array of shops, a supermarket, a Methodist Chapel and several pubs. The village is situated close to Elvaston Country Park and its large house, perfect for a weekend day out.
