Alvaston is a large suburb of Derby, lying 2 miles South of the City Centre. It has a large shopping centre at the busy junction of London Road and the ring road.
The building of the ring road virtually divided Alvaston in two and development has continued over the last decade or so.
Alvaston is also home to a large park ideal for families, dog walkers and runners who may enjoy the weekly Park Run event every Saturday morning.
